12 Steps to keep your kids drug-free

6 Session Series that provides 12 easy steps to help prevent children from experimenting and indulging in drugs and alcohol.  Each one-hour session covers 2 steps with practical techniques to begin using immediately.  Workshop series has been evaluated by Emory University and deemed effective for parents of children 8 – 16 years of age.

Workshop Topics:

  • Steps 1 and 2:Relationship Building – when we demonstrate care to our children effectively, they want to please parents and will make choices accordingly.

  • Steps 3 and 4:Parenting with Confidence – allows us to parent calmly and respectfully managing our stress and anger.  When these are out of control, children escape often through drugs and alcohol.

  • Steps 5 and 6:Behavior Modeling – our behavior speaks more loudly than our words.  What does the law say about drinking alcohol?  Do you support that law in public and at home?

  • Steps 7 and 8:  No Means No – to illegal drugs and many other things.

  • Steps 9 and 10:  Say “Yes” to Health and Wellness – focusing on the positive helps us communicate to ourselves and others the importance of our health and well-being.
